| Welcome students, parents, teachers, community members and friends to
the Queens High School of Teaching website. Our web site will provide
you with essential information and resources you may need to be an
informed, productive member of the Queens High School of Teaching
learning community. The Queens High School of Teaching has developed a
reputation as a high-achieving, high-performing and inclusive school.
Our students take rigorous course-loads and participate in our many
extra-curricular and athletic activities. We pride ourselves in our
ability to provide a high level education for all students. In our
classrooms and our advisory program we focus on the individual needs of
our students. The collaborative relationship we’ve developed with our
many partnerships is invaluable in our ability to provide the highest
level of services in and outside of our classrooms. Our school provides
over twenty-six sports teams, fifteen clubs, numerous college
collaborations and extensive weekend programs. Many of our students come in before their school day and stay well past their school day through their participation in school programs. Our hallways and classrooms are filled with art, music and hands on learning experiences. In this website you will find links on scheduling, our school policies, faculty contacts, and other useful information from the Department of Education website. A strong partnership between parents/guardians, students, community members and the high school is essential in order to ensure that The Queens High School of Teaching continues to experience success. If there are any suggestions or recommendations please email us your ideas. We value community input. Please do not hesitate to contact me at 736-7100, our guidance counselors or teachers, whose contact information you will find on our website. Sincerely, Eric Contreras, Principal 718-736-7100 x 1291 econtre@schools.nyc.gov |
